In July 2019 we had Her Royal Highness Princess Anne visit our tearooms for lunch. It was such an honour to be asked to hold this very special event.

We met with Her Royal Highness Princess Anne’s staff and security months before the big event to go through the protocol and safety measures, Princess Anne’s chief of staff said Princess Anne will love our tearooms especially the decorations and the vintage style. We were so excited but had to keep it all quiet. As part of the 50th Anniversary of the Cleveland Way Princess Anne was unveiling the new plaque which can be found close to the tearooms.

We had a marquee and were asked to cater for around 100 guests with lots of homemade cakes, scones delicate sandwiches it truly was an amazing special day. Princess Anne and her Lady in waiting had their lunch inside the tearooms.

When we were introduced to Princess Anne she took the time to talk to myself, family and staff, she asked questions and chatted for a while. When she was ready to eat and we were preparing her food and drink she talking to us and made us feel special. So hard working and truly a beautiful, kind and caring lady.
